What’s new for 2024?

The Discovery Sport has several updates for 2024, including an improved air purification system. Additionally, the steering wheel has been revised and there is a new 11.4-inch infotainment screen. That curved glass touchscreen also gives you wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The brand simplified the Discovery Sport lineup as well. There are now only two trims of this SUV, the base S and the Dynamic SE. Both trims bring something unique to the table.

Performance & Capability

Rather than muddy the waters with a variety of engines, each 2024 Discovery Sport comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder powerplant. This engine makes 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The standard nine-speed automatic transmission ensures that power is delivered in an efficient and usable manner.

As you would expect from a luxury SUV, the Discovery Sport comes with standard all-wheel drive. And although this vehicle is focused on luxury, it offers some legitimate off-roading ability and can tow up to 5,512 pounds when properly equipped.

Although the 2024 Discovery Sport is smaller than the Range Rover or Defender, it still provides serious comfort. In fact, the brand has worked to carry its design language into this SUV. Even the base Discovery Sport boasts heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and panoramic roof.

For those that require more space for passengers, the optional third-row jump seats will likely come in handy. The brand has also made efforts to use more sustainable materials and offer better seating configuration.

In terms of cargo space, behind the first row there is 71.81 cubic feet. And behind the second row you get 32.2 cubic feet of storage space.

Discovery Sport Safety Features

When it comes to SUVs, consumers generally enjoy getting the latest safety features. Safety tech for the 2024 Discovery Sport includes things like automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and more. There is also available adaptive cruise control, which is an advanced cruise control system.

Other optional safety tech includes traffic sign recognition and adaptive speed limiter. Another feature available is the digital screen in the rearview mirror. Even if the rear end of your Discovery Sport is filled up, you can flip the mirror to get a camera feed of what is behind your SUV.

How much does the 2024 Discovery Sport cost?

The new Discovery Sport has a starting cost of $48,900. That price will vary depending on options and features you choose to add. The top Discovery Dynamic SE has an MSRP of $53,100. With that trim, you do get some additional features.

This compact luxury SUV can seat either five or up to seven passengers thanks to its available third row of seating. But it is worth noting that the optional third row is simple jump seats.
