VISCERAL, DRAMATIC, UNCOMPROMISING
The 2024 Range Rover Sport is the smaller sibling of the legendary Range Rover. Although it has smaller dimensions than the Range Rover, it does do quite a bit fairly well. It also offers three different engine options to better fit consumers’ needs.
Additionally, this luxury SUV is offered in four different trim levels. Land Rover has also hinted at an electric variant coming in the near future.
What’s new for the 2024 Range Rover Sport?
The 2024 Range Rover Sport is fresh off of a full redesign. That means new styling, better tech, and a swanky cabin. It remains a mid-size SUV, but it looks like there is a lot to like about the smaller version of the Range Rover.
There is an optional 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, and it makes 523 horsepower. Meanwhile, the base engine makes 355 hp, which is nothing to scoff at. No matter which engine you pick for your Land Rover SUV, you’ll get an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive.
For those in search of an even sportier SUV, the Stormer Handling Pack is available. This option adds rear-wheel steering and a torque-vectoring system. Both of these should help if you are interested in pushing the limits of your Range Rover Sport.
What powers the Range Rover Sport?
There are three engines offered to this mid-size SUV. The base engine is a 3.0-liter inline-six that makes 355 hp. In the P400 SE Dynamic, folks can get a light boost in power from this engine. In that application, the engine makes 395 hp. Land Rover has also added an electric motor to some versions of the inline-six engine, this allows it to make 434 hp.
Then there is the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. This powerplant is the crown jewel of the Range Rover Sport and it has the ability to generation up to 523 hp. Land Rover has stated that the engine makes for a 0 to 60 mph time of under 4.5 seconds.
If you opt for the plug-in hybrid variant, that comes with a 31.8-kWh battery pack. In the right conditions, that should mean an all-electric driving range of about 50 miles.
Land Rover takes comfort seriously
Land Rover is known for making premium vehicles, and the 2024 Range Rover Sport is no different. With a minimal interior, this SUV is certainly a comfortable place to be. A leather-wrapped interior is available, as are massaging front seats. Another interesting feature is the air purification system. This is present in order to reduce things like odors or allergens in the vehicle.
In the front of this SUV, the driver and passenger are greeted by a 13.1-inch touchscreen and a 13.7-inch digital gauge cluster. Better yet, both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are made standard across the board.
Is the 2024 Range Rover Sport safe?
When it comes to safety, the new Range Rover SUV offers a number of different features. It comes with the following standard equipment:
- Adaptive cruise control
- Lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist
- Automatic emergency braking
Another standard feature is the 360-degree camera. And that should help with things such as navigating parking or keeping an eye on your surroundings.
As you would expect from a luxury SUV, the 2024 Range Rover does come backed by warranty coverage. The limited warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles. The powertrain warranty also covers four years or 50,000 miles. Showing that Land Rover does have faith in the product that it produces.
